Engine Start (Manual Operation)

After all the pre-startup checks have been completed, turn on the engine with the steps listed below.

  1. Turn the Control Disconnect switch on the 24VDC distribution panel to the ON position.

  2. The Emergency Engine Stop (E-stop) knob must be in the run-enabled position (pulled out).

  3. Twist the Emergency Engine Stop (E-stop) knob in a clockwise direction and pull out to enable.

  4. Turn the Controller Power switch to the ON position.

  5. After the generator controller has booted up, the screen will read “Generator at Rest; Stop Mode.”

  6. Press Manual Mode. The manual mode indicator light will illuminate.

  7. Press Start. The generator will start and go into idle mode at 850-950 RPM.

  8. Allow the engine to warm up for approximately 5 minutes or until the coolant temperature reaches 49°C, whichever comes first, and then press Idle. The engine idle indicator light will turn off and the engine will speed up to 1800 RPM.

  9. IMPORTANT  It is recommended that the engine coolant temperature reach at least 50°C before any electrical loads are applied to the generator.

    Start the Engine - steps
